I joined the Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in 2004 through the eligibility of my step-father who served in the Army during WWII. Since that time I’ve been active at all levels of our organization and am thrilled that I belong to an organization with a primary goal of recognizing and serving our active military, veterans, and their families.
I served as the President of Post 454 Auxiliary for many years and currently hold the role of Secretary, along with the chairmanship for Veterans and Family Support and Historian.
At a District level I have served as President for three years and look forward to all my visits with the Auxiliaries within my District. We all have ideas and ways to contribute to assist our veterans and our communities.
I am a Past Department President (2019-2020) and value the time I have been able to spend with Auxiliaries throughout the state and for the ability to meet leaders within our VA systems where our veteran’s medical needs are taken care of.
Nationally, I currently serve as Flag Bearer and am looking forward to spending time with many members at our National convention in Louisville.
I am proud to say that I come from a family very focused on veterans support. My husband, Woody; children, Shannon, John, and James; brothers, sister, and mother are all members of Auxiliary 454 and we can often be found working side-by-side at local events. I look forward to spending many more years volunteering with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
