Michael Maruszak of Justice, Il. was elected as Department Conductor of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary on June 8th, in Springfield, Illinois.
A life member of Rhine Post #2729 in Chicago, Illinois. Serving in many capacities, recently as the National Membership Big 10 Conference Coach. President of his Auxiliary for the past three years. Served as District #3 President for three years. Has held several chairs at the Department, District, and Auxiliary levels.
He joined on the eligibility of his father, Anthony S Maruszak, who served in the 8th Army during the Korean.
Michael graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1977.In the top quarter of graduates. He attended Morton Junior College in Cicero, Il. and obtained an Associated in Applied Science. Attended several courses at Roosevelt University in Chicago, Il. Michael is retired from the American Medical Association after 45 years. He was Data Center Manager, Networking Technician and Teams Phone Administrator. Michael currently works part-time for Monterrey Security as a Guest Services Coordinator at Solider Field.
You can find Michael on Thursday evenings helping at BINGO at his home post. He enjoys photography and is currently the photographer for the band called Blind Reality. He enjoys aviation having lived two blocks from Chicago Midway airport and track aircraft as the transverse as the pass thru the airspace in his neighborhood. When traveling he seeks out local VFW’s and visits them. In his travels if there is a Veterans Cemetery he will visit our fallen Veterans.
