Danielle Krull
Department President -

Danielle was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois. She grew up closely connected to the VFW, where her grandfather, Joe—a Korean War veteran—and her grandmother, Ruby, were actively involved. Through their participation, Danielle and her family enjoyed holiday celebrations, community events, and the lasting friendships fostered within the organization.

Her personal connection to military service deepened when she joined the VFW Auxiliary through her husband, Keith, a United States Marine Corps veteran who served during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan (2009, 2011). During his deployments, Danielle volunteered aboard Camp Lejeune as a mentor for the Marine Corps L.I.N.K.S. program, supporting spouses and children of active-duty Marines through education and community integration. She also volunteered with Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Family Readiness, helping provide resources and support to military families navigating deployment and military life.

Since joining the Auxiliary in July 2016, Danielle has been deeply committed to the local, district, and department levels. She has held numerous leadership roles, including Post and District President, District Conductress, District Secretary, and multiple Department of Illinois positions such as Guard, Conductress, Chaplain, and Membership Chairman. Her leadership and dedication culminated in her election and installation as the 2026–2027 VFW Auxiliary State President at the 102nd Illinois Convention in June 2026.

In addition to her work with the VFW Auxiliary, Danielle is a member of the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary, serves on the Board of Directors for Friends of Fisher House Illinois, and is a committee chair for Scouting America Troop 1439(G).

Danielle lives in Chicago with her husband and their two children, Kayleigh (18) and Kennedy (16). She works full-time as a Business Analyst. In her free time, she enjoys traveling across the United States and camping with her family—preferably in a cabin or RV.
