My name is Laurie Sparwasser. I am a Life Member of Metzger-Crook Auxiliary 6504 in District 14 since 2002. I joined under the eligibility of my husband, Butch, who served in the Marines during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970. My father served in the Navy in WWII. My nephew served in the Marines during Iraqi Freedom. My brother retired from the Air Force and was in several conflicts. All are VFW members. I have been a Department Program Chairman for many years. It is a joy to work with the Department officers and all the great Auxiliaries of this great state.
I was my Auxiliary President for 7 years and District 14 President for 2 years. I have held many offices and chairmanships in my Auxiliary and District.
My husband and I have 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. We have a huge garden to include growing a lot of pumpkins that we sell in the fall. We also have strawberries, blackberries and fruit trees. We have a farm that we rent out but have a lot of grass to mow. We keep very busy.
